Upcoming & Current Road Closures
Marina Drive at Paradise Road – Underground Utility Construction
Upcoming November 7th, a contractor will be performing utility construction in Marina Paradise on behalf of the City of Chestermere. This work is scheduled to occur from November 7th to November 30th. Construction timelines may be impacted by weather and/or unforeseen circumstances. The hours of work will be from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday – Sunday. Temporary full road closures will be in effect and will remain closed outside of working hours. Work is scheduled to be completed in segments to minimize impact to local property owners.
Water utilities may be interrupted for residents around the construction, which will be communicated with more details to those impacted at least 24 hours prior to the interruption.
Work will require full road closures, as the contractor excavates deep utilities. Portions of Marina Drive will be inaccessible with no through traffic to or from Paradise Road throughout the duration of the construction. All residents will maintain access to the area, but some residents may have limited or no access to driveways if they are within the excavation area.
Chestermere Blvd at Rainbow Road
As part of the Bridgeport Phase 1 Offsite scope of work, there is utility construction proceeding on Chestermere Boulevard which will require localized detour, lane closures and speed reductions through/around the work areas.
The work is scheduled to commence Monday, October 28th, 2024, and be completed by Saturday, November 16th, 2024. The signage and lane shifts are reflected in the attached plans below. Please note Chestermere Blvd will see eastbound traffic detoured near Rainbow Road (as shown in the attached) until the underground work is completed (large pipeline crossing Chestermere Blvd).
To ease the strain on the public, this project is being done in stages with the transition from Stage 1 to Stage 2 occurring on or after November 5th, whereby the contractor will then start work on the northern half of the pipe crossing after completing the southern half.
Chestermere Blvd at Highway 1 – Lane Restriction
As part of the Clearwater Park Phase 1 Offsite scope of work, construction is proceeding on Chestermere Boulevard east of Highway 1, requiring localized lane closures and speed reductions through/around the work areas.
The work is scheduled to commence Monday, October 14, 2024, and be completed by Friday, November 30, 2024, for a total duration of just over six (6) weeks. The signage and lane shifts are reflected in the Traffic Accommodation Strategy plans and we note access will be maintained for the duration of construction with no full closures anticipated.
