What are the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ's)?
Ages & Questionnaires® (ASQ) are the most widely used developmental and social-emotional screening tools for children ages 2 months to 6 years of age. There are x2 different parent-completed questionnaires that you can complete. The ASQ-3 provides a quick and reliable snapshot of your child’s motor, cognitive, language, and social-emotional skills. The ASQ-SE2 takes a deeper, exclusive focus on your child’s social-emotional development, looking at autonomy, compliance, adaptive-functioning, self-regulation, affect, social interactions, and social-communication.
Why should parents complete the ASQ-3 & ASQ-SE2?
During the last 5 years of life, a child’s brain develops more than at any other time in life. Early brain development has a lasting impact on a child’s ability to learn and succeed in school and life. Developmental screening is an opportunity for parents to check their child’s development and address and potential concerns with the help of resources, and supportive professionals. Research shows that children who receive early treatment for developmental delays are more likely to graduate from high school, hold jobs, live independently, as well as avoid teen pregnancy, criminal behavior, and violent crime.

What happens after I have completed an ASQ?
After you have completed the ASQ one of our Caregiver Support Facilitators will score it, and connect with you to share your child’s results. If your child is developing without concerns, there won’t be specific follow-up steps – just keep playing and interacting with your child as they grow and reach new milestones. If your child has trouble with some skills, we will help you with the next steps, including some fun an d easy ASQ learning activities to try with your child before the next screening, and/or referral if needed.
