What CFS Firefighters Do
CFS firefighters are the first responders to a variety of emergency situations, including residential and commercial structure fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, aquatic/ice-related emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and technical rescue operations. Our team is committed to continuous training and skill development to ensure we provide exceptional service and care to the community.
Firefighters at CFS are also involved in:
- Fire prevention, inspections, and community outreach
- Lifelong learning, teamwork, humility, integrity, and respect
- Community service, collaboration, and growth
- Contributing to the development and advancement of the department to improve service delivery
- Maintaining a high level of physical fitness throughout their careers
CFS is proud to employ highly trained and passionate firefighters. Our service currently operates with four seven-person platoons on a rotating 24-hour shift schedule. The rotation follows a pattern of 1 on, 2 off, 1 on, 4 off, averaging 42 hours per week.
