Family Resource Network
Family Resource Networks (FRN) are a provincially funded programs offering free programs and services across Alberta. Launched in 2020, the FRN program aligns with the Well-Being and Resiliency Framework to guide program development, delivery, and in the array of support services offered throughout the province.
Chestermere/Strathmore Family Resource Network
Parent & Caregiver Support Services is part of a larger network of the Chestermere/Strathmore Family Resource Network (FRN). Each agency offers different programs to meet the needs of residents in Strathmore, Chestermere, Wheatland County, and Southeast Rockyview County.
Trellis Commons: The Trellis Commons Strathmore/Chestermere Family Resource Network provides a wide spectrum of prevention to intensive services for families with children ages 0 to 18, at no cost. Trellis Commons works with families, caregivers, and communities to support the safety and resiliency of infants, children, and youth within nurturing environments. Trellis recognizes that family is an important protective factor, and strives to foster attachment and belonging in families.
Their programs and services include:
- Culturally sensitive programming
- Opportunities to enjoy time together
- Parent education (group and individualized); and
- In-Home Family Support workers for caregivers with children ages 7-18
Healthy Families
As part of the Accredited Supports to the Community, Healthy Families provides guidance, referral and support to families facing challenges that impact parenting through in-home supports. Parents and caregivers are supports to build on a foundation for strong family functioning. Our program is free and voluntary.
