August 6, 2024 – The City of Chestermere is pleased to share that City Council has appointed Kent Edney as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), following the tenure of Mr. Pat Vincent, effective September 1, 2024.
Kent previously served as the CAO of Brazeau County before joining the City as the Director of Operations, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and a commitment to community engagement. In his recent role as Director of Operations with the City of Chestermere, Mr. Edney has already made substantial contributions to the city’s infrastructure and service delivery. His deep understanding of Chestermere’s unique needs and challenges positions him well to lead the municipality toward continued growth and success.
City Council is confident that Mr. Edney’s extensive experience, visionary leadership, and dedication to transparent governance will greatly benefit the Chestermere community. His leadership philosophy emphasizes effective communication, proactive problem-solving, and the empowerment of city staff to achieve their best.
“Council is excited to have Kent take on the role of CAO starting on September 1. We are so thankful for the work that both the Official Administrator Doug Lagore and the Interim CAO Pat Vincent have done in bringing stability to the City of Chestermere. Mr. Vincent has brought a sense of unity to the staff and has empowered them to do such a great job and we are all the beneficiaries of that work. We are confident that Mr. Edney will continue this great work. Mr. Edney has been a part of the organization for the past four months and in that time has endeared himself to the community and has earned the trust of staff. He will continue to bring stability to the organization, and we believe he is the long term fit as the CAO of Chestermere.” said Mayor Dean.
Please join us in welcoming Kent Edney as the new CAO of the City of Chestermere! We look forward to the continued development and prosperity of our city under his capable leadership.
