Emergency Alerts
Alerts for the City of Chestermere are activated through Alberta’s Emergency Alert System.
Alberta Emergency Alert is a system that allows authorities to issue alerts about life-threatening dangers.
Depending on the timeline, alerts can be classified into two categories:
“Critical” means they interrupt media broadcasts and cellular phones when action is required immediately.
“Advisory” means they will not interrupt broadcasts or phones but will still go out to local media, social media and to the Alberta Emergency Alerta App.

- What is the threat?
- Where is the threat?
- What can I do to protect myself?
