Chestermere, December 5, 2023 — The City of Chestermere is pleased to announce the appointment of Pat Vincent as its new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective December 4th, 2023. Mr. Vincent brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in public service and municipal leadership.
With a long and distinguished career in public service, Mr. Vincent has successfully built and led municipal organizations by employing key principles that have defined his approach to effective leadership. Notable among these attributes are his exceptional communication skills, a keen understanding of political realities, and the ability to shape, motivate, and empower teams.
Mr. Vincent is known for inspiring trust in the vision and mission of the organizations he serves, leading by example, and fostering an environment of respect and honesty. His philosophical approach to being a successful Chief Administrative Officer is guided by three core principles: avoiding surprises by keeping council well-informed, acknowledging, and learning from mistakes, and unwaveringly supporting and defending council and staff.
Having retired in 2015, Mr. Vincent embarked on a successful career in municipal consulting, specializing in interim CAO positions. His interim roles include serving a number of different municipalities including Thorhild County No 7, Westlock County No 10, Town of Olds, City of Chestermere, Woodlands County, County of Vermilion River No 24, and more.
