Birth Forest

Every year the City of Chestermere plants trees to recognize those children born to families living within Chestermere. There is no better way to help save the environment than by planting a tree, you can do your part by honouring your child with a tree in our annual Birth Forest. A big thank you to the many families who have participated in our Birth Forest planting events in years past.

The 2025 Birth Forest planting will be taking place during Alberta Forest Week in the spring of 2026. This will give the opportunity for all of the children born in 2025 to be involved in the planting of their tree and a great way to kick off spring!

Alberta Forest Week is celebrated each year during the first full week in May.

This event is for families who had a child born in 2025 and purchase a tree through the City for a discounted rate subsidized by the Parks Department.

Event Date: May 07^th, 2026

Event Time: 1:00PM – 4:00PM *Drop in style, please arrive anytime from 1:00PM – 3:30PM to ensure families have enough time to plant their tree.

Event Location: Westmere Environmental Reserve (117A Springmere Drive)

Parking: Available on Springmere Drive

Planting Fee:

If the child was born in 2025 to a family within the City of Chestermere, the fee is $75.00.

There is a fee of $100.00 for all applicants wishing to have a tree planted in recognition of a child born in to a family living out the City of Chestermere.
