Utility Projects
Fibre Optic Installation
Beginning mid-February 2026, Fibre Connect will be installing new fibre-optic infrastructure in residential and business areas of Chestermere. This project will expand high-speed internet access to areas where fibre was not previously available. Fibre Connect is subcontracting work to Ledcor Technical Services, who will design and build the network.
You may receive a letter or home visit from Ledcor Technical Services representing Fibre Connect. This is a legitimate project supported by the City, focused on bringing improved fibre optic connectivity and upgraded network infrastructure to Chestermere.
Installing Fibre to Your Home or Business
Extending fibre from the street to your building requires your permission. A small exterior termination box will be installed, using the least-intrusive route (often the same path as your existing copper line).

There is no cost during this project’s active construction window to have fibre installed to your home or business.
A Fibre Connect representative will go door-to-door to request signed approval from property owners.

3. Construction – Crews install conduit/fibre in rights-of-way
4. Service sign-up – Once connected, you may opt to purchase services from telecom providers leasing the network (e.g., TELUS PureFibre)
