Chestermere, thank you for you astute efforts in water conservation over the past weeks! It’s because of these conservation efforts that we’ve been able to successfully navigate through this challenging water crisis.
We’re pleased to share that the City of Chestermere will now ease indoor water restrictions. It’s important we ease into indoor water use to protect our water infrastructure network from a sudden surge in water demand. This means going easy on the laundry mountain and easing into those epic showers, while continuing some of those water-wise practices where possible.
An Outdoor Water Restriction remains in effect and we continue to ask Chestermerians to do their part and conserve water responsibly. This means, we’re asking residents to refrain from the following activities
❌ Washing outdoor surfaces, windows, exterior building surfaces, sidewalks, driveways or walkways. As an alternative, use a broom to clean hard surfaces.
❌ Washing a car on a driveway or street.
❌ Filling fountains or decorative features.
❌ Wash down exterior surfaces unless required for health or safety.
❌ Wash cars on driveways or streets
❌ Fill hot tubs, pools, or decorative features.
❌ Using water for purposes such as grading, compaction or dust control.
Together, we can continue to reduce demand and ease the strain on our water supply infrastructure as we ease out of Indoor Water Restrictions.
