This week Municipal Enforcement performed a traffic stop on Chestermere Boulevard near Dawson Drive that involved excessive speeding.
“Earlier this week a Chestermere Peace Officer on regular traffic enforcement patrols stopped a vehicle after it was found to be travelling at 136 Km/h along a stretch of road posted to a maximum of 70 Km/h, while in moderate to heavy traffic.
Driving over 50 Km/h above the posted speed limit means that the driver was issued with summons which will require him to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice to answer for his actions.
This type of behaviour by residents and visitors to Chestermere unnecessarily endangers all users of the road. Chestermere Municipal Enforcement would like to take this opportunity to remind all drivers to slow down, adhere to posted speed limits and drive with care in our community.”
