Municipal Inspection Reports & Directives
On January 17, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs appointed Deloitte Inc. to conduct a second inspection of the City of Chestermere’s financial policies, controls and governance, as well as certain financial transactions within the period of October 18, 2021 to December 4, 2023.
The Inspection Report was accepted by the Minister and includes 31 findings and 94 recommendations.

Municipal Directives
In March 2022, the Province of Alberta issued 12 directives to the City of Chestermere’s Council. The directives were intended to ensure the Council acted appropriately and in accordance with provincial legislation. Progress on the directives can be reviewed below:
