December 13 – Rainbow Road Southbound is officially open!
We’re excited to open this connection in our community, but there’s a couple things you may want to take note of:
There are no traffic lights when exiting Dawson Way onto Rainbow Road. Please exercise caution when driving in this area and pay attention to traffic merging and exiting from adjacent roads. Additionally, Waterford Road also does not have traffic lights. Again, please be cautious when exiting or entering this area.
Please also note that the Rainbow Road Southbound Expansion ends at Waterford Blvd. While the right southbound lane will be utilized for exiting onto Waterford Blvd, the left lane is will be used for traveling south or exiting onto Rainbow Falls Gate. South of this location, Rainbow Road narrows to a single lane and there is no change to the section over Rainbow Road Bridge.
As part of the project, the contractor will be returning in Spring of 2024 to address any deficiencies. Please drive slowly when first traveling along the road and be mindful of any new barriers and road arrangements,
December 6 – Chestermere, you’ll be pleased to know that Rainbow Road is still on schedule for a December 11th opening!
Upcoming December 11th, Rainbow Road construction will officially be completed and the road opened. Only remaining is the traffic lights, which will be flipped and timed prior to the opening. We appreciate your patience while we’ve worked to complete the project.
