
Fire Camps are Returning to Chestermere in Summer 2025!
Upcoming this July (and potentially August), The City of Chestermere Fire Department will again host summer camps for youth ages 14 through 18. For details on the camps, take a look at the information below.
Ember Firecamp – This groundbreaking camp is designed exclusively for young women who are passionate about fire or emergency services. Hosted by our very own dedicated team of firefighters, this camp will provide a fun blend of education and hands-on-training led by our department’s own Hailey Bessette & Rebekah Voisin. Hailey and Rebekah will give campers the unique opportunity to step into the boots of a firefighter and give firsthand insight into the exhilarating world of fire service. Explorer Firecamp – This thrilling summer camp offers an unforgettable experience for teenagers aged 14 through 18. Hosted by the City of Chestermere’s Fire Department, this camp is designed to ignite passion, foster teamwork, and instill essential life skills. Whether you have dreams of becoming a firefighter or simply want to experience the adrenaline rush of firefighting, this camp promises an unforgettable experience for all participants. This camp is free and runs from July 7th through 11th. To register, fill out the form below and select “Explorer Camp”
IMPORTANT: Spaces are limited, and only the most promising applicants will be accepted. Apply soon! Please note that successful candidates will be required to bring their own CSA approved footwear.
All camp participants will have the opportunity to:
- Wear & operate a self-contained breather apparatus
- Hook up a hydrant and handle a hose
- Practice ladder scaling & climbing
- Familiarize themselves with search and rescue processes and protocols
- Learn first-hand about emergency problem-solving strategies and tactics
- Participate in role-playing scenarios, simulations and more
These activities provide a well-rounded experience that not only teaches essential firefighting skills but also fosters teamwork, leadership, and personal development. All camps will be held at the Chestermere Fire Station at 156 East Chestermere Drive.
