The City of Chestermere extends its sincere gratitude to Member of Parliament (MP) Martin Shields for his dedicated years of public service to the residents of Bow River. Martin’s commitment to our community has left a lasting impact, and we appreciate his leadership, integrity, and, unwavering dedication. MP Shield was elected in 2015 and has tirelessly served the Bow River riding, recently announcing his intent to retire and not seek re-election in 2025 Federal Election.
Mayor Shannon Dean shares his personal appreciation:

Martin has been a mentor, and I am thankful for how he participated in many community events in Chestermere.
