1. Focused & Effective Leadership
Strong governance, accountability, and modern service delivery

- Ensure professional development is budgeted for across Council and Administration
- Keep the City's guiding governance documents updated and reviewed regularly
- Ensure a succession plan is in place for Administration
- Strengthen Two-Way Communication and Meaningful Public Participation

- Plan long-term infrastructure (water, stormwater, sanitary, roads) for generations to come
- Develop an up-to-date Transportation Master Plan
- Complete a transit study to identify how people can more easily move around Chestermere and into Calgary
- Promote Increased Beautification of the Community
- Collaborate with the Western Irrigation District to maintain the Chestermere Lake shoreline and beaches
- Increase and promote accessible green spaces within the city
- Work with local partners to increase beautification efforts throughout Chestermere
- Address unsightly properties that impact others' enjoyment of their own property
- Balance residential and commercial development to keep Chestermere attractive
- Shape Growth to Strengthen Chestermere's Distinct Community Identity
- Strengthen Chestermere's identity as a vibrant and connected lake community
- Foster neighbourhoods that are safe, accessible, welcoming, and livable
- Protect and enhance access to natural features, waterfront spaces, and public amenities
- Ensure Proper Planning and Preparedness for Natural Disasters and Emergencies
- Expand local and regional emergency services as Chestermere grows
- Review and update the Emergency Management Plan
- Strengthen mutual aid agreements with neighbouring municipalities

- Encourage Additional Growth Within the City's Business Sector
- Create an environment that will attract and retain businesses
- Support the growth of local business partnerships within the community
