The City of Chestermere Quick Trench program enables Water & Sewer installers to complete City connections to single-family, semi-detached or row housing/multi-family buildings on a single parcel. A recent review identified opportunities to enhance the program, improving service levels and installer accountability.

The revised Quick Trench program is automatically initiated when building permit applications are submitted. The excavation contractor must now be vetted by completing five installations that are accompanied by a site inspection. Once five successful installations are verified, the excavation contractor is accepted into the program. The contractor has been qualified for four years.

Qualified excavation contractors can now complete water & sewer installations, schedule water & sewer connection inspections, submit installation photos as per program specifications and continue with preparing the site for the foundation.
