EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – SUPERVISOR COMMUNITY OPERATIONS
Position Summary:
As a member of the Community Operations team, the Supervisor primary goal is to ensure the group of employees under their supervision perform well and get the feedback they need to address any areas of improvement. Their duties and responsibilities include:
Objectives of this role
- Motivate employees by resolving issues and making sound decisions
- Serve as a conduit of communication between employees and department managers
- Implement business strategy, assigning roles and tasks to dedicated team members based on their strengths and abilities
- Identify and implement changes for increased efficiencies.
- Meet and exceed City goals through optimal utilization of personnel and resources
Key Accountabilities:
- Provides Supervisor’s and operational expertise and advice in the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the company with integrity and conduct yourself in alignment with company policies.
- Creating team schedules and delegating tasks to ensure proper workflow.
- Continuously monitoring employee performance and identifying areas of improvement.
- Assessing employee performance and providing performance reviews to managers.
- Ensuring staff meet deadlines for key projects and tasks.
- Development of KPIs and performance measurement metrics.
- Addressing any concerns or issues identified by City Directors and Senior Leadership.
- Builds cohesive interdependent teams that work to achieve objectives; provides opportunities for staff to acknowledge and value each other’s expertise and skills.
- Participates in the Community Operations on-call schedule.
- Establishing company goals and objectives for employees, and ensuring their performance is in line.
- Appropriate and responsible use of confidential information; maintains confidentiality and security of all information related to the City.

Required Education and Experience:
- Proven success in a corporate supervisory role, working with various levels of manager
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with an ability to communicate effectively across departments
- Strong ability to motivate team members
- Detail-oriented mindset, excellent organizational skills, and ability to adhere to deadlines
- Experience in customer service and conflict resolution
- Proficiency with productivity software and collaboration tools
- University degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics considered an asset
- Prior work experience maybe considered over education
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
Expected Skills and Attributes:
- Analytical and creative thinking skills; ability to solve problems, make decisions, negotiate and deal effectively with people.
- Knowledge of governance issues, e.g., policy interpretation.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to maintain ongoing communication to anticipate and prevent potential problems, develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff, the public, funders and other stakeholders.
- Proven supervisory capability; ability to motivate staff towards constant improvement and encourage staff to make recommendations, coaching, mentoring, performance management and development.
- Ability to act as an advocate, balancing the needs of staff and citizens with the needs of the City.
- Strong work ethic and highly motivated; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and other computer software.
