March 3, 2025 Update
The City of Chestermere has begun work at Founders’ Point Park.
This project, which will enhance infrastructure for our growing community, is expected to be completed this spring. Residents may notice increased construction activity in the area, including the use of heavy machinery.
The installation of rig mats, as well as the adjacent sound wall, has been completed, with appropriate work to follow.
The City of Chestermere is working alongside a developer to have essential utility work completed at Founder’s Point Park.
As a result of this work, Founder’s Point Park will be closed until work can be completed.
We’ve heard concerns from the community regarding the work being done, and we’re working closely with the developer to ensure the park is enhanced after the construction is completed. The time capsule will also be preserved and returned to its rightful place, and the monument will be protected during construction. To mitigate construction noise throughout the project, the developer will install a temporary sound fence.
We acknowledge the feelings and concerns of residents. City staff will be working alongside the developer and community advocates to ensure this concern is properly rectified and remedied to the satisfaction of the community.
