In Alberta, self-reliance continues to be the strongest motivator for preparedness action. There are several actions that can be taken to help inform risk reduction behaviors:
- Strive for financial resilience
- Make community connections

Business Preparedness Guide & Emergency Resource Guide
As part of Emergency Preparedness Week, Chestermere’s Fire Department will be doing visits to businesses across Chestermere to share resources on emergency planning and response, and distributing our new Business Preparedness Guides as well as an Emergency Resource Guide. Both these guides will also soon be available at City Hall to the public. If you’d like to organize a visit to your business for a specific date or time, please reach out to scoutts@chestermere.ca, otherwise you can expect a representative of our team to drop by with some additional information in the next week.
Community Connect
Community Connect is a platform which allows residents to voluntarily provide critical information to first responders which may be used in times of emergency. This information is protected with bank-level encryption and security and is only used for the purpose of better serving you during emergency situations.
Plus, sign up between May 4th and 10th to be entered in to win a giveaway!
