Chestermere Fire Department Receives Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada
The City of Chestermere and Chestermere Fire Department are excited to share that the Chestermere Fire Department has been awarded a grant valued at $27,425 CAD from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada. This generous grant will be used to acquire vital rope rescue equipment, enhancing the department’s ability to perform technical and high angle rescues and elevating the level of service provided to Chestermere residents.
This new equipment, in addition to supporting high-angle rescues, will enable the Chestermere Fire Department to better respond to emergencies involving heights and confined spaces, as well as support basic rescue practices.
“Chestermere is a growing community with lots of challenges for the fire department to meet, this grant improves firefighter safety and gives us the equipment necessary for technical rescue, which keeps our residents and visitors safer. Thank you to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada.” Said Matthew Slimmon, Training & Prevention Officer for Chestermere Fire Services.
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada has awarded 351 grants to public safety organizations since 2015. This grant is one of 19 Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada awarded to public safety organizations during the most recent grant cycle.
