This Earth Day, the City of Chestermere is inviting residents, community groups & local organizations to take action for Our Power, Our Planet.
Community clean‑ups will launch on Earth Day (April 22), giving residents the opportunity to do their part to help keep Chestermere clean and beautiful throughout the spring season. As part of Earth Day, the City of Chestermere will be turning off exterior building lights on April 22 to help reduce energy use. Residents are encouraged to take part and do their part for the environment in their own way.
Ways you can pitch in:
- Turn off exterior lights at your home on Earth Day
- Organize or join a community clean‑up in your neighbourhood or favourite outdoor space
- Pick up free clean‑up supplies from City Hall
- Use the Eco Centre, which is free for residents, for proper disposal of garbage.
- Choose everyday actions that help reduce litter and protect the environment
Community Clean‑Ups
The City is supporting community‑led clean‑up efforts by providing free clean‑up supplies, including gloves, bags, and litter pickers.
Residents and community groups are encouraged to participate in a clean‑up at a time that works best for them, whether on Earth Day or later in the season.
Request clean‑up supplies by completing the online form below
Supplies can be picked up at City Hall, and the City will assist with coordinating waste collection.
Eco Centre
The Chestermere Eco Centre is free for residents and is available for proper disposal of waste, recycling, and yard materials. Using the Eco Centre helps reduce litter in our community and supports responsible waste management.
A clean‑up is one way to make a difference, preventing litter in the first place is always the best option.
