Chestermere RCMP Remove Three Impaired Drivers from the Road while Conducting Proactive Traffic Enforcement
Chestermere, Alberta. – Chestermere RCMP removed three impaired drivers from the road during proactive traffic enforcement in the city on the Thursday night of October 22, 2026.
All three drivers received immediate roadside driver’s licence suspensions and applicable administrative penalties under Alberta’s impaired driving legislation.
With festival season approaching, Chestermere RCMP are reminding residents to plan ahead for safe transportation when attending celebrations and social events. Alcohol and drugs can impair judgment and reaction time, putting drivers, passengers and other road users at risk.
“Proactive enforcement is an important part of keeping our roads safe. As residents prepare for festival season, we encourage everyone to plan a safe ride home before celebrating. Making responsible choices helps protect the entire community.”
Chestermere RCMP encourage residents to:
- Arrange a designated driver, taxi, rideshare or other safe transportation before an event.
- Never get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or impairing drugs.
- Help friends and family make safe choices and avoid travelling with an impaired driver.
- Report suspected impaired drivers to police when it is safe to do so.
Chestermere RCMP will continue proactive traffic enforcement to promote road safety throughout the city.
Plan ahead. Make the safe choice. Help everyone get home safely.
