Wear Red Canada Proclamation

By February 6, 2025Newsflash

During this week’s Governance and Priorities Meeting on February 4th, Mayor and Council proclaimed February 13th as Wear Red Canada Day in Chestermere.

Wear Red Canada is celebrated annually across Canada on February 13th to raise awareness about women’s heart health. Heart disease is the number one killer of women worldwide and the leading cause of premature death in Canadian women. The good news is, 80% of a woman’s risk factors are within her control, and heart disease is largely preventable.

On February 13th, and all February long, the City of Chestermere encourages you to learn more about how your heart health can impact you and your family. Join us in wearing red in support of the cause, and consider showing your support by using the hashtags #HerHeartMatters and #WearRedCanada.
