The City of Chestermere is pleased to announce the appointment of Cody Zebedee as the new Fire Chief, effective March 3, 2025. With over 24 years of extensive experience in fire service leadership, safety codes, and fire investigation, Chief Zebedee brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Chestermere Fire Department.
Chief Zebedee’s distinguished career began in 1997 as a firefighter with the Town of High River. He steadily advanced through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication. He served as a Fire Captain from 2005 to 2018, both in High River and at the Heritage Pointe Fire Station, before becoming a Fire Inspector in 2018. In October 2019, he was promoted to Fire Chief of High River, where he also served as the Director of Emergency Management and Protective Services, overseeing a composite fire department, Community Peace Officer program, and emergency management for the community.

Chief Zebebedee’s educational background includes specialized training in Fire Service Leadership from Dalhousie University and NFPA 1521 certification from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, further solidifying his qualifications for this critical role.
