In the late hours of July 3, 2025, a City of Chestermere Peace Officer stopped a vehicle travelling 125 km/h. This was 75 km/h over the posted 50 km/h speed limit on West Merganser Drive. The vehicle also failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
The driver, a youth, was transporting three other youth passengers. This type of driving behaviour demonstrates a blatant disregard for traffic laws and public safety. As a result, the driver is facing multiple charges, including careless driving. The individual was released with a summons to appear in court.
Chestermere Municipal Enforcement remains committed to promoting safe driving practices and reminds all drivers, particularly youth, that their choices behind the wheel can have serious and lasting consequences.
