Chestermere Peace Officers, in collaboration with partners from the Alberta Sheriffs and the Calgary Police Service, conducted a planned joint enforcement operation on June 24 along Chestermere Boulevard near Rainbow Road.
In recognition of Commercial Vehicle Safety Month, and with significant construction activity currently underway throughout the city, the operation focused on identifying commercial vehicle deficiencies and promoting roadway safety.
A total of 28 commercial vehicles were inspected during the operation, resulting in the following outcomes:

Officers identified a range of safety concerns during the inspections. Examples of observed deficiencies include:
- Brake defects (e.g., brakes out of adjustment, missing or worn brake lining)
- Improper or insufficient cargo securement
- Missing wheel fasteners
- Lighting defects
- Tire defects
- Suspension defects
- Frame defects
This joint initiative highlights the importance of maintaining commercial vehicles in safe operating condition. Enforcement partners remain committed to ensuring compliance with safety standards and reducing risks on Chestermere roadways.
