On September 24, students at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic High School took part in a mock motor vehicle collision (MVC) designed to demonstrate the real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving.
The second annual event brought together Chestermere Community Peace Officers, Chestermere Fire Services and AHS Emergency Medical Services to demonstrate how emergency responders work together during a serious collision.
Students had the opportunity to see the different roles involved in responding to a collision and learn more about the potential consequences of making unsafe decisions behind the wheel.
The mock MVC is part of an ongoing effort to help young drivers understand the importance of making safe choices before getting behind the wheel.
