The City of Chestermere would like to inform residents that construction activities for the West Chestermere Drive & Station Way Intersection Improvement Project are tentatively scheduled to begin on August 10, 2026, subject to weather conditions and contractor scheduling.
This important infrastructure project will include a range of intersection improvements designed to enhance traffic operations, improve pedestrian safety, and support overall mobility and connectivity within the area. These upgrades are intended to improve the efficiency of the transportation network and accommodate current and future travel demands.
As construction progresses, residents and businesses in the vicinity may notice increased activity, including the presence of construction crews, equipment, materials, and temporary traffic control measures. The City and its contractor are committed to completing the work safely and efficiently while making every effort to minimize inconvenience and maintain access for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and nearby businesses wherever possible.
At this time, specific lane closure schedules and any potential intersection closures have not yet been finalized. The City will continue to coordinate closely with the contractor and will provide advance notification of any lane restrictions, traffic detours, roadway impacts, or intersection closures once the detailed construction schedule has been confirmed.
We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of residents, businesses, and road users as we undertake these important transportation improvements. Project updates and construction notices will continue to be shared through the City’s regular communication channels as additional information becomes available.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to improve Chestermere’s transportation infrastructure and enhance safety and mobility for all users.
