

Residents are advised of significant traffic impacts on Rainbow Road South as crews complete critical stormwater infrastructure improvements in the south Chestermere.
Rainbow Road South will be fully closed between Waterford Boulevard and South Shore Drive (bridge area) from Aug. 20 to Sept. 4.
During this closure, crews will excavate a large trench across the roadway to install underground infrastructure. The road will be impassable to vehicles – please follow posted detours.

- Western Headworks Canal pathway:
- Closed on the west side of Rainbow Road (train bridge side) from Aug. 13 to Sept. 30.
- Closed on the east side of Rainbow Road, between Rainbow Road and the Edible Garden, from Aug. 13 to Oct. 30.
- Waterford Boulevard at Rainbow Road: Closed from Sept. 3 to Sept. 10
- Rainbow Road between Waterford Boulevard and South Shore Drive: Periodic single-lane traffic from Sept. 4 to Sept. 30
- South Shore Drive between Rainbow Road and South Shore View: Single-lane traffic from Sept. 7 to Sept. 30
Residents are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time while this work is underway.
Construction schedules are estimates and may be adjusted due to weather, site conditions or changes in project scope.
